Hello! My name is Gavin Guthrie, I’m a New York City based performer originally from Oklahoma. I first fell in love with theatre when I saw the national tour of Phantom of the Opera at 7 years old! Thus began a childhood full of forcing family and neighbors to watch me and my friends in full scale garage musicals!
I have a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre from Oklahoma City University, and I currently live in New York! I was most recently seen as IQ in the 2023-2024 National Tour of “Hairspray!” I’ve also performed at various regional theaters across the country, and taught Children’s theatre, dance, and piano.
In my free time I like to write music, craft, watch trashy reality tv, and haunt my neighborhood coffee shops with a book.
As a Choreographer and Educator, Gavin has spent four summers as a resident Choreographer and Director for Stillwater Children’s Theatre, as well as other Oklahoma based educational theatres, including KidsAlive!, Oklahoma’s premier Children’s Theatre specializing in giving kids of all abilities performance opportunities. Gavin believes that Theatre is a magical art form with the ability to change, heal, and teach.
When not on stage, you can find Gavin leisurely roaming the aisles of Target, sitting at his favorite coffee shops, or listening to true crime podcasts while knitting.
